Corporate History
1965
Spitznagel GmbH was founded by Rudolf Spitznagel in Tuttlingen, Germany, to manufacture welding transformers.
1968
We began producing small transformers, which soon developed into our core business.
1970
We were one of the first manufacturers to launch a standard program of small cast transformers.
1972
The available production area was no longer large enough. For this reason we relocated to a new building
in Balgheim with a production area of approx. 750 m².
1982
We founded the trading company ACI Inc. in California to develop the American market for small transformers.
1991
Due to capacity constraints, Spitznagel relocated to new premises in Tuningen. This time the production
area expanded to approx. 2500 m².
2008
Our founder’s son, Ralph Spitznagel, was appointed to the Executive Board, paving the way for the company
to pass to the second generation.
